Active Retirees : Active Retirees Dec-Jan 2013
Active RetireesTM | 7 As we are fast approaching the end of another great Probus year, it is time to refect on the many high points and remember the hardships and tragedies experienced across our country. For PSPL it has been a very rewarding and signifcant year, with highlights including the opening of the new Secretariat offce suite in Parramatta; the National Photographic Competition and Literary Excellence Award; Probus Information Days; Five-year Constitutional Review; Rotary District Probus Chairman Training; Palmerston North Probus Rendezvous; showcases of Probus at Lifestyle Expos, Rotary conferences and Institute; and the implementation of initiatives to ensure the growth and strength of Probus. For clubs it has been a year of opportunities to lead members in social activities and experiencing life in retirement to the fullest, to welcome new members into the Probus family, and discover new places of interest. Clubs have celebrated milestones with club anniversaries and had opportunities to make a difference in the lives of members of the community, bringing unique offerings of liveliness, fun and fellowship to the club. We see this time of year as a time for gift giving; let’s all share in our gifts: • fellowship and fun • compassion and hope for the future • grace and patience • understanding • the hand of friendship through Probus The gift of Probus should be shared with others in the community; let’s make this our new year’s resolution and build our organisation’s reputation as the best 'Community Service Activity of Rotary clubs’, and the best reason to retire! I wish all Probus members a happy and safe festive season with family and friends. As we enter a new year, may I extend on behalf of PSPL Board Directors and the Secretariat our best wishes for 2013, as well as encourage all to take on the challenge of arresting the decline in our membership and working together in harmony to achieve a great future for Probus. Margaret Robinson Chairman 2012-13 PSPL Chairman Margaret Robinson wraps up the many highlights of 2012, and looks forward to welcoming new members and celebrating club milestones in 2013. Bring in 2013 Studio Commercial The gift of Probus should be shared with others in the community; let's make this our new year's resolution. VIEW FROM THE CHAIR
