Cruising to the heart of nature M5742-AUR_Probus_HPH-Arctic_2.indd 1 13/04/11 12:38 PM WALK THIS WAY By Richard Cann George Bass Coastal Walk Length: 7km; 2 hours Difficulty: Moderate W: www.inspiringgippslandwalks.com.au Victoria boasts some of the most spectacular coastline in the country, including a stunning 7km stretch of dramatic headlands and secluded beaches between San Remo and Kilcunda in South Gippsland. Winter offers walkers the chance to glimpse southern right whales as they make their annual migration from Antarctica through Bass Strait. There is also plenty of action for birdwatchers, while kangaroos, wild deer and echidnas make sure the cattle don’t have the sensational views all to themselves. There are no steep hills to worry about on this walk, but prepare for strong winds off the Strait. •• NEW FIJI CRUISE The first cruise to circumnavigate Fiji’s second largest island, Vana Levu, has been launched by Captain Cook Cruises. The seven-night Discovery Cultural Cruise, on the MV Reef Endeavour, explores the beaches, islands, rivers, towns and rainforests of the north, home to the three different cultures of the Ellice Islanders, Banabans and Fijian peoples. •• W: www.captaincook.com.au T: 1800 804 843
