Active Retirees : Active Retirees Jun-Jul
Active RetireesTM | 7 Probus members in Kyneton, Victoria read with interest about the development of a Probus Cruise Club. Twenty-two of our members have recently returned from a cruise around New Zealand. We only travelled half-way around because of the rough seas, but we managed to enjoy ourselves and the high waves were awe-inspiring. Cruising is a great way to have a holiday and so easy for people with impaired mobility. The ports of call were accessible and there was a variety of excursions available. Many managed to see the cities and countryside by themselves. At sea, there were so many activities possible it became difficult to fit in the most attractive, and the shipboard entertainment was first class. We joined in the ship-arranged gathering for service clubs, meeting Cruise away Your Probus members from Kyneton, Victoria, cruise around NZ. letters people from Rotary, Lions and Zonta, but we also had our own get-togethers to catch up with our friends. Meal times were also meeting places, with the yummiest food, lots of chatter and just good fun. One of our people had a birthday on board, celebrated with balloons at our cabin door and a cake at dinner, with the whole dining area singing Happy Birthday. We have come home happy and exhilarated by a lovely time ‘abroad’. Margaret Ruxton Probus Club of Kyneton Grinning winner! I was thrilled and proud when it was announced that my photograph was the winner of the Probus photo competition. There were many great photographs and the judges acknowledged that it was difficult deciding on the winners. I would like to congratulate the finalists; I particularly enjoyed hearing the stories behind their photos at the presentation dinner. Congratulations to PCSP for organising the competition and thanks to the generous sponsors. I would especially like to thank the major sponsor, Grand Pacific Tours, for providing the wonderful prize.
