Q: Has the PSPL Board made
any further decisions on the
A: As you are aware, Probus
Rendezvous had been under the
auspices of PSPL with a host club
or host clubs selected to manage
the event. PSPL had a number
of hosts withdraw their bid and
submissions in the last five
years and felt that as the event
involved a lot of administration,
sponsorship, finance and risk
for the organisers. PSPL decided
to self-manage the event and
engaged an event management
team to trial the Sydney
Rendezvous in 2014.
The event was well planned
with high profile entertainers
and landmark iconic venues
booked, however due to the lack
of support from Probus club
members to register for the event,
it was necessar y to cancel.
At this point in time, there
is no Probus Rendezvous event
expected for the foreseeable future.
It may be better suited that
Probus clubs arrange district
conferences to showcase their
town and make it more affordable
Q: Does PSPL have a policy
for clubs establishing their
own Facebook fanpage?
A: Yes PSPL has developed a
moderation and interaction
policy for social media.
This policy is designed to
establish best practice in, and
responsibility for, moderation
and interaction on social media
